Let food be thy medicine and medicine thy food – Hippocrates
We recently had Chef Ryan from Paleo with Love join us to kick start the Paleo Challenge. He spoke about the importance of a healthy balanced diet, and explained to our members about the essential aspects of eating like our caveman ancestors.
- Focus is on eating
- healthy meats
- fruits & veggies
- healthy fats (avocado, nuts, coconut oil)
- Limited amounts of natural sweeteners (honey, agave)
- Elimination of:
- processed foods
- oils such as vegetable oils
For 30 days, our members will be challenged to keep food journals to track their nutrition! This will not be easy, but the unfortunate reality is that most of us are addicted to sugar and processed food. Carb dense foods such as rice, beans, candy, junk food are not a good source of micronutrients and don’t fuel our bodies properly. They also don’t help our bodies fight disease or recover from tough workouts!
By changing eating habits and introducing nutrient dense foods to their diets, our clients will see positive effects such as fat loss, lean muscle mass, faster recovery from workouts, better sleep and the list goes on.
Stay tuned for an update!
